How you maintain your personal health is very important to your life style, your family and longevity of all.

It seems that in North America, all of the old medicine practices have literally been dropped for the new modern medicine that science and pharmaceutical companies are promoting.  Doctors are no longer trained in this field.  Europe however has clung to many of the old health ways and it is quite evident when you shop abroad in their pharmacies.  Now, too, the old practices from Asia are emerging like acupuncture and Ayurveda.  Never before have we had access to so many treatments, attitudes and methods. 

So how do you sort your way through all of this information.  First, look at the source.  You are looking for unbiased opinions, if that is possible.

We have included some sources for you to get you started.  Please treat the subject rationally.  Some of the natural medicine reads more like a religion and are totally definitive in their approaches.  Why not mix the different theories wherever you can.  Natural medicine is ideal for preventive medicine but things happen and there are times when your option is the new modern medicine.  Why can't we use all of it?

This is not a put down on the medical profession at large as they have a lot of other issues they are trying to juggle while attending to their practices.  Sometimes we are not the focus of their total attention or creativity.  They do their level best and they cannot be the total wherewithal for dealing with every situation.

This is where you fit in.  Firstly, common sense goes a long way.  No one - absolutely no one can appreciate just how you are feeling and what you are dealing with on a daily bases.  If you feel you have to seek medical attention be succinct in your description of symptoms that are present.  "I don't feel so good", or "I am dizzy at times", or "My joints bother me", gives your practitioner very little to work with.  So you begin the "Trial and Results" syndrome which is unsatisfying to both of you.  It's often quite expensive as well. 

If you suspect that you are dealing with an health issue that is new, think about it.  Start paying attention if the time of day increases or decreases your symptoms.  Does different kinds of food make a difference. Are you getting enough rest?  Can you get a good night sleep?  Do you have to make pit-stops during your sleep time?  Is this new?  When does your energy level fall of?  How long do you have the chills?  How long do you feel flushed?  Do either of those conditions come and go or is it constant?  Are you coping with depressions?   See?  Pay attention to yourself and even make notes so you don't forget the little nuisances that could help in getting good treatment quickly.
